Dead by Daylight Survivor perks exist to take the game from a cat-and-mouse thrill ride to something more akin to a tactical multiplayer game. Dead by Daylight features unlockable perks for both the Survivors and the Killers, each improving their respective abilities. There are a lot of perks in the game, many are very specific and work best in particular builds and strategies. For new players or for just general play as a Survivor, here are our picks for some of the overall best Dead by Daylight Perks for Survivors.

  • Before getting into the nitty-gritty of their perks, you should first get to grips with the Dead by Daylight Characters.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Dead Hard

Dead Hard is a perk unique to David King and can be unlocked for other characters at level 35. It is a really strong perk and a good one to get for your other characters, as it aids in evading Killers who have hit you. Once you have been hit, you can activate Dead Hard. Activating it will make your character dash forward, and during that dash they are invulnerable.

This is a great way to bait attacks, avoid them entirely, and give Killers the slip.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Alert

Alert is a fantastic perk for players who want to keep tabs on where the killer is. It is unique to Feng Min, and can be added to other players’ Bloodweb once levelled to 40.

Alert shows you the aura of the Killer whenever they break a pallet, a wall, or damage a generator. You see them for a few seconds, so you see where they are and get an idea of where they are going next.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Boon - Circle of Healing

This perk is unique to Mikaela Reid, and is maybe the best healing perk in the game. It is a boon, which means you must seek out a totem and bless it to activate the boon. When this is done, all healing is significantly faster within a 24-metre radius.

It also unlocks the Self-Care ability, so players can heal themselves without a Med-Kit and do so at an increased rate.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Iron Will

This perk is unique to Jake Park, who clearly is an absolute champ. This perk makes it so that, while injured, the Survivor does not make any grunts of pain. The sounds Survivors make while injured are a key way that Killers track them down, and this perk can completely negate that aspect.

It’s also quite nice to play the game without listening to your character whine and complain because they’re "bleeding" and "in excruciating pain". Ugh, whatever mate.

  • To upgrade your characters and unlock more perks, you need Bloodpoints. Luckily, you can get a whole bunch for free using Dead by Daylight Codes.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Prove Thyself

Prove Thyself is a really useful perk and is available for Dwight Fairfield, one of the starting Survivors. Prove Thyself grants a 15% boost to repair speed to all Survivors in a four-metre range when repairing a generator.

Essentially this is a boost to generator repairs that stacks the more people who are working together. This is an excellent perk if you want to be a proper team player.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Kindred

Kindred is a general perk, so anyone can grab this one. Kindred makes it so that when you are hooked by the Killer, all Survivors can see each other's auras and, crucially, the Killer's.

If they are within a certain range of you. When you have this perk active and another player is hooked, you get the same abilities but in this case, it is only you who can see everyone else.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Borrowed Time

On the topic of hooking, Borrowed Time is a very useful perk unique to Bill Overbeck. When Bill unhooks a teammate, they get Endurance for 12 seconds.

This means that an attack that would down them instead only wounds them. This is really useful against Killers who like to hook players and camp the area, as it prevents them from re-downing the same player repeatedly.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Overcome

Overcome is one of Jonah Vasquez’ perks, and can be unlocked for all other characters at level 30. When you are injured in Dead by Daylight, you get a quick boost of speed to help you run away. The Overcome perk makes that boost last two extra seconds.

Now, two seconds is not a long time, but in this instance those two seconds can often be the difference between outrunning a Killer and getting caught, so Overcome can be a pretty useful ability.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Detective's Hunch

This perk is unique to Detective David Tapp, and is really good for new players learning the game. With this perk, every time a generator is repaired, any generators, chests, and totems within a large radius are revealed for ten seconds. Fully upgraded, this radius extends to 64 metres.

This perk is a really useful tool for newer players to help them learn their way around unfamiliar maps and gameplay mechanics.

Dead By Daylight Survivor Perks: Bond

We’ll finish off for now with another great perk for new players learning the ropes. This is another perk unique to Dwight Fairfield, and pairs well with his Prove Thyself perk. Bond is quite simple, it reveals the auras of all other survivors within a radius of up to 36 metres.

It is always good to know where your teammates are, especially when you are new and not sure where to go. Most of the perks on this list are useful for anyone, Bond is generally useful, friendly to new players, and makes a good introduction to how pairing certain perks together can have powerful effects.
